Heidi’s journey has taken her from Silicon Valley to Phoenix to Portland, leading creative teams at big and small brands alike. She was head of production design for Tiny Prints & Shutterfly for 8 years, where she lived the start-up life and the early seeds of entrepreneurship took hold.
When she moved to Portland with her family in 2015, she found her tribe in her NE neighborhood and her niche in merchandising and design curation. She loved the people, the community and the work and knew she had to take it further.
Heidi met Sonja Rasula, founder of Unique Markets, at HOW Design Live in Chicago where Sonja was keynote speaker. Inspired by the maker and design community and driven to make an impact in her city, Heidi made the move to leave her 9-5 job, invest all her savings, and launch Unique Markets Portland in 2020. After pushing through starting a business during a pandemic, she now holds markets 3xs a year, shining the spotlight on the amazing creative community in Portland!
She’s a Roseway resident and lives with her husband, a 2nd grade teacher, their two kids, and adopted pup, “Amigo”. She serves on the PTA board as well as her neighborhood business relations committee. When she’s not hustling, she enjoys time with her family, getting immersed in a good book, volunteering at her kids’ school, and getting out on her SUP during the summer. She’s always down for a glass of wine and thrifting around town.
