Welcome Our New Partner... The Ace Hotel! We've been lucky to have a relationship with The Ace Hotel in the past, so when they announced they were opening a downtown Los Angeles location we were over the moon with excitement. We had early access to the hotel site, which is literally across the block from where we hold Unique LA (the California Market Center), and knew once they were finished with renovations it would be stunning. They opened this year and all we can say is WOW - their 2nd floor bar has become a favorite, the cafe is a great place for meetings and breakfast, and the rooftop lounge and bar is to die for! We are happy to share that we have partnered with The Ace Hotel DTLA! We're Baaaack...

Well our summer vacation, and my honeymoon, has finally come to an end. And while I make the same cocktail we enjoyed in Italy at home every night, as a way to hang onto the fabulous Tuscan times, I'm really excited for all the amazing UNIQUE plans that we have in-store this Fall. You'll hear lots more about this stuff soon but a few of the things we're working on are: the first-ever UNIQUE NYC; an exclusive coffee + whiskey tasting event at Handsome Coffee Roasters on October 18; a big 5-year-anniversary party in December; we're publishing our first magazine this December (in honor of our anniversary) filled with amazing photography/articles/fashion; a Holiday Pop-Up Shop in Chinatown that will be open Dec 1 - 23; our annual LA Holiday Show on Dec 1 & 2 and more! So while we hustle in the UNIQUE office, here are a few snapshots of my trip to Paris and Italy to peek at... There are only a few because we chose to take pictures on film throughout the trip - we're getting the negatives developed as I write this, which is exciting! I don't know about you but when I travel, whether nearby or across the ocean, I try to find unique (hehe) places to stay. That usually means we don't stay in hotels but rather try to find lofts or homes to rent. Often the cost to stay in your very own apartment is less then a hotel! Being the designophile that I am, I'm quite picky about aesthetics (i.e. I'm not a fan of puffy sofas or linoleum). So I was overjoyed when I found this cool travel website, Boutique Homes.
